We already focused on the Lily, so let’s move onto a bra I really do love but doesn’t work 100% on me.
The Marcie is my real favorite, when it comes down to it. I have the pink and yellow in a 32E, as the band seemed to run one size too small? I also have the Marcie babydoll in black, which I violently trimmed the skirt off because I have no patience. It also is a terrible babydoll because the back is wide open. Why?? That, too, is a 32E, but the band seemed true to size. Thus, the band is just too big all of the time. A Rixie clip was helpful yet uncomfortable!
Marcie is a nice bra because it’s actually very simple. The colorways aren’t insane, though they are bright. They don’t have kittens printed on them; the patterns are just embroidered on there. I would be interested to see how embroidered kittens would look on the Marcie, though. Probably insane.
Marcie’s pink colorway was the first I bought. I was extremely lucky at a Nordstrom Rack, tried to 32E, and nearly screamed. The shape was lovely. The top is nice and open, so it didn’t cut in that much.
Well, not so much now. I don’t know what my breasts are planning, but they’ve gotten bigger and my band size has shrunk. Maybe it’s just that my preference is changing, but it’s hard to tell. I just know, now, that I need a smaller band and a bigger cup. Why do I know that? My straps dig in all day because they’re shortened so much.
Let’s look at the star of our show.
Marcie has a lovely, up-and-out shape. Not minimizing. I like this for when I want my breasts to come out and check out the weather. This isn’t different to me taking the dog out to see the world. Like the Marcie, my dog does not like long walks, however. Princess, my beautiful love, often decides she is finished with the whole “walk” and will lie down and look at me, tongue halfway out of her face, drooling, and has to be pulled along. I love my dog—did you know?
The Marcie separates and lifts my set, but I will jiggle all day. It is not a good “work” bra.
Let’s rate our star.
Appearance of bra itself (8/10)—generally one of the “meeker” bras in Cleo’s offerings. The colors are very loud, but it doesn’t have terrible prints. It is another very “girly” bra with polka-dots and bows and buttons.
Appearance of bra on my body (10/10)—Does not minimize but lifts everything wonderfully. This is my favorite “hello, do you see these? Yes? I grew them myself” bra.
Comfort of…
Straps (8/10)—I have no complaints. My band needs to be smaller, which is why I have to shorten them so much. The reason I haven’t given them a 10/10 is because I have to wear them tightly and they hurt. Not the fault of Marcie.
Band (7/10)—Way too big. I can fit both hands under the band and pull it significantly away from my body. Oops…
Gore (8/10)—Hard to say—I think it’s fine.
Underwire (5/10)—Is unruly and won’t sit in its assigned seat. My IMF wants to be friends with the underwires but it isn’t happening.
Cups (6/10)—Too wide, overall. I quad over especially in the pink.
Overall rating, then? Marcie gets…
75% – a …high C?
