Lastly, let’s talk about the Sandstone/Navy. I purchased this in a 28G. The in-cup quadding is BY FAR the worst in this one, which is sad because I like a lot of things about it. I like that it’s not “Nude/Navy” but “Sandstone/Navy”. That’s exceeding rare to find. In fact, I’m always pleased that Claudette seems to abandon “Nude” for other color-focused instead of skin-focused words. My Nude is not your Nude, obviously. I’m a ghost and hurt people’s eyes at the beach, which comes from my father’s side. I think he may be albino, actually – his eyelashes and eyebrows are very white/blonde.
So I like to put that out there as context and to praise how Claudette treats its color ways. I really appreciate that!
But I don’t appreciate how poorly this fits me, which is, of course, why I have this blog.
I want to love this color way. I had a 30FF in this which has become my frankenbra. I’ve tested how changing the strap placement changes the fit on that one. I’ve even cut the cups apart to experiment. Surprise, you can still quad when you take out that one-layer mesh, LOL.
Okay, anyway, let’s look at our model.
There are some obvious problems in the fit. The reason it looks like my larger boob is wrinkling more is, of course, influenced by the fact that I’m holding the camera out with that right hand, but I do have issues filling the tops near my pits. My smaller boob is wrinkling less, but that isn’t consistent. The gore needs to be brought inward to make my boobies sit right. Why are they so naughty and disobedient? Fit in bras I like. You are being very bad, boobs, and Teacher is not happy.
The most consistent fit issue I have with all the Dessous bras is that I am wrinkling near the bottom. There isn’t enough immediate projection. Why don’t I learn this? I’m stubborn, that’s why.
A gore alteration can really help this bra fit better. Unfortunately, it will not solve extreme in-cup quadding, which my breasts love to do. Why are they so cruel?
I may change where the straps go on all of these, but that remains to be seen. Despite everything, I still adore the Dessous. It’s my dream bra as far as looks and design go. It’s something that I can’t help loving.
I suppose we ought to rate this one, too, right?
Appearance of bra itself (10/10)—I love this color combo. It feels very mature and the blue trim matches a great deal of undies I own.
Appearance of bra on my body (7/10)— I have good lift, but extreme quad boob in-cup. It is not super noticeable, like many of my fit problems, but I can’t help but notice it myself. These titties know no rules and obey no laws.
Straps (8/10)—Wish I could tighten them more. They are rather thick, which makes them less likely to dig in and hurt me. Very elastic and stretchy. Sigh.
Band (6/10)—Again, 3-hooks and it’s wide. I like that, but the band is a bit rough on my skin, especially where the elastic is.
Gore (8/10)—Fixing the gore made it more comfortable. I recommend doing that if you encounter fix issues in the Dessous, since it tilts the cups enough that some fit issues become less pronounced.
Underwire (5/10)—Again, thin/flexible. Don’t sit where I want them too. Sense a theme, folks?
Cups (7/10)—Mesh is okay – not much stretch, but it could be distorted. The in-cup quadding is not uncomfortable and neither are the wrinkles.
Overall rating, then? Sandstone/Navy Dessous gets…
73% – you do pass, yes, but you need more class participation.
