Today, I received my three Dessous bras in the mail. I was most excited for the leopard print one, but, unfortunately, that one has the worst fit of all. Since you can’t return from the Encore sale, I’m stuck with it. I’m considering doing some alterations, but it’s just too damn big. I’m swimming all over the sides and top, though it’s the only one that doesn’t quad where I have center fullness.
First, let’s consider the child I wanted to love but made me sad.
This is a 30G. I read that the cups run small. I don’t have a 30FF to compare to in this cut, so I can’t say if that’s true. It just don’t fit right. The cups are extremely tall. They are literally up in my collar bone!!! Whyyyyy?!!!
You can tell how the construction has changed, which is interesting. The elastic trim is all around the cups in the leopard – like it’s at the center but also on the side near the good old armpit. It also looks a little strange on the inside. The trim near the wings does not look finished. I’m not sure if this is how the bra is supposed to be, or if I got some sad reject 30G.
I do think that the leopard has the softest mesh of the bunch. It feels comfy on my girls, but it really isn’t doing much of anything on them. It’s swimming around my armpits and neck and wondering why I don’t have more person to handle. Sorry, Leopard Dessous. I am thinking you will be good on taller people or smaller cups.
Would I order the 30FF? Not sure. I have bought many bras now and have to figure out how to sell the ones that don’t fit me. But I’m gonna hold on to the 30G for a bit and hypothesize how it could be helped.
Okay, okay: let’s rate the Leopard Dessous in a 30G.
Appearance of bra itself (8/10)—The only reason it doesn’t have a 10/10 is because of the weird trim near the wings. I don’t understand it and it doesn’t look finished. I am really fond of the leopard print mesh, though, and the black trim. That’s cool with me.
Appearance of bra on my body (3/10)— This looks ridiculous on me. Makes me so sad. Let me love you, leopard Dessous…
Straps (4/10)—Too long for me. I tightened them all the way, but, y’know, they could’ve been even tighter.
Band (6/10)—I can’t say much about the band. It’s a 30 when I’ve been in need of a solid 28. With my experience with this bra, I know the band is very stretchy. HOWEVER! It’s a 3-hook deal that’s wide, which I like.
Gore (6/10)—As I only wore this for a bit, the gore didn’t hurt me. It is, however, a bit wide and a bit tall. I’ve done gore alterations on the Dessous before that improved the fit, but I doubt that could save this one.
Underwire (5/10)—Extremely thin and flexible. Sort of like hard noodles. Obviously, they ain’t sitting where they should.
Cups (7/10)—Comfort-wise, the mesh is very soft and I don’t have physical pain in this bra. It does not, however, fit. It looks a little ridiculous because of how weird the fit is. The top part, where it’s one layer of mesh, is wrinkly on top and stretched where my center fullness is. On the bottom/side panels, where it’s two layers, the top-mesh layer is going willy-nilly wherever it wants. It’s also dangerously close to the ole’ pitties. That’s armpits. Sorry.
Overall rating, then? Leopard Dessous gets…
56% – and that’s terrible!
